Cooking Class Terms and Conditions 

CAN I PURCHASE A GIFT CARD FOR A COOKING CLASS?

Yes! All of our gift cards can be used towards online and in-store cooking classes. Our e-gift cards are perfect last-minute presents.

ONLINE CLASSES

WHAT IS THE COST OF AN ONLINE CLASS? Our online classes start at just $15 per household, so you can have friends and family in your kitchen at no additional cost.

HOW LONG ARE CLASSES?

Online classes are 30 minutes to 60 minutes in length unless otherwise noted.

WHAT IS THE FORMAT OF ONLINE CLASSES?

Online classes are given real-time via live-stream services (i.e. Zoom, Google Meet, Microsoft Teams). Classes are shown in Eastern Time. You’ll need to download your prep packet with an ingredient list beforehand, so you have time to assemble all the necessary tools and ingredients. Before class begins, you’ll need to have Zoom installed on your tablet or laptop (you can download at https://zoom.us/). Set up your laptop or tablet in the kitchen for easy viewing while you cook. Every class is live, so you can ask your instructor questions as you go. At the end of the class, you’ll have a delicious meal to enjoy.

HOW DO I CANCEL A COOKING CLASS?

Our cooking classes may be canceled by contacting us at [email protected]. We kindly request you give us at least 48 hours notice.

WHAT IS THE FORMAT OF YOUR IN-PERSON CLASSES?

Classes are hands-on and full participation. Students practice techniques demonstrated by our instructors and prepare menu items.

WHAT CAN I EXPECT AT A FIVE LOAVES & TWO FISH HEALTHY TEACHING KITCHEN COOKING CLASS?

Get ready to roll up your sleeves for a hands-on experience. Our small class sizes ensure that you get plenty of personal attention from your chef instructor, who will walk you through each step of the recipe and demonstrate specific techniques.

Our in-person cooking classes take place at select locations. Our kitchens are designed specifically to be a learning environment. You’ll have a workstation equipped with the tools and ingredients you’ll need for each recipe, and you’ll taste a generous helping of everything you make.

We will also provide you with recipes and "at home" instructions for all the menu items.

WHAT ARE YOU DOING TO KEEP YOUR COOKING CLASSES SAFE?

Five Loaves & Two Fish Healthy Teaching Kitchen takes keeping our clients' and teams' health very seriously. Here are some of the extra steps we are taking to create a safe class experience:

We are closely following CDC and local public health orders and guidelines.

Class attendees will work together in groups of two at shared workstations. If you attend a class with a guest, you are welcome to share with that person.

We have increased the frequency of cleaning with disinfectants throughout our stores and kitchens, particularly high-touch surfaces.

Vaccinated attendees aged 12 and older may go mask-free if they choose, unless required by local ordinance. All other attendees under 11 years old are required to wear a mask.

Instructors and staff will wear face coverings and gloves throughout your class.

We have strict safety and health protocols in place for our employees.

We are using more disposable dishes and utensils to minimize the need for re-use.

WHAT SHOULD I WEAR?

We will provide you with an apron, but we recommend wearing casual clothes that you don’t mind getting a little bit messy in. We ask that you wear flat comfortable shoes. Please do not wear open-toed shoes or sandals. Please pull long hair back. Vaccinated attendees from aged 12 and older may go mask-free if they choose. All other attendees are required to wear a mask.

DO YOU OFFER PRIVATE COOKING CLASSES?

Yes, we offer in-person and online private cooking classes. Visit our private events page for the details and a few sample menus.

CAN I SEND MY CHILD TO AN ADULT COOKING CLASS?

No. Age requirements are posted for each class on the class detail page. Most classes are ages 14 and up. Minors must be accompanied by a paying adult. Some classes are restricted to 18 and up and will be noted on the class detail page.

WHAT IF I NEED TO CANCEL MY CLASS?

We understand that sometimes class cancellations are necessary, and this policy describes what happens in the event of a cancellation. Due to the special promotional pricing of our classes, 'All Sales Are Final'. For cancellations, Five Loaves & Two Fish Healthy Teaching Kitchen will  offer an in-class/virtual credit that may be used for a future class. 

(Cancellations or changes can be made (1) in person in at the location of the culinary class or (2) via email at [email protected]. When we cancel a class due to inclement weather, or other circumstances beyond our control (e.g., power outages, facility issues, etc.), we will endeavor to contact you by email or telephone with as much notice as possible and issue a full refund to the original form of payment (or, if you prefer, issue you a refund in the form of a Five Loaves & Two Fish Healthy Teaching Kitchen gift card). However, if we do not affirmatively cancel a class by email or telephone and you are unable to attend, our standard cancellation policy applies. Please note that Five Loaves & Two Fish Healthy Teaching Kitchen reserves the right to modify class menus at any time due to ingredient availability or seasonality.

We kindly request you give us at least 48 hours notice if you wish to cancel your booking. To make your class a memorable experience we ask that you log into the class promptly at the class link provided in your confirmation email from us with the stated class recipes or other services provided. We provide a 15 minute grace period for class attendees. If you are not present or fail to inform us (via written email confirmation or phone conversation confirmation from us) of your presence within 15 minutes. Regrettably, we would have to cancel your class and all payments will hence be non-refundable. Please note, due to the special promotional rates for the month; All Sales Are Final and we are unable able to issue any refunds. However, future class credit is available (exceptions apply). 

WHAT IF I'M SICK?

If for any reason you're not feeling well enough to cook on your class day, it's not a problem. We’ve modified our cancellation policy and would be able to offer you credit towards a future class and will help you cancel. Please contact us [email protected] .

Waiver of Liability & Assumption of Risk

For Adults

In consideration of being permitted by Five Loaves & Two Fish Healthy Teaching Kitchen to participate in a private cooking class, I hereby waive, release, and discharge any and all claims for damages or personal injury, death, or property damage which I may have or which may hereafter accrue as a result of my participation in said activity. This release is intended to discharge, in advance, Five Loaves & Two Fish Healthy Teaching Kitchen, as well as all members of its cooking school staff whether contracted or employed from and against any and all liability arising out of or connected in any way with any participation in said activity.

I understand that the above activity may be of a hazardous nature and/or include physical and/or strenuous activity, that serious accidents occasionally occur during the above activity; and that participants in the above activity can occasionally sustain personal injuries as a consequence thereof. Knowing the risks involved, nevertheless, I have voluntarily applied to participate in said activity, and I hereby agree to assume any and all risks of injury or death and to release and hold harmless Five Loaves & Two Fish Healthy Teaching Kitchen as well as all members of its cooking school staff whether contracted or employed, who might otherwise be liable to me. I further understand and agree that this waiver, release, and assumption of risks is to be binding on my heirs and assigns.

I hereby grant Five Loaves & Two Fish Healthy Teaching Kitchen all rights and consent to copyright, use, re-use, publish or re-publish, copy, exhibit or distribute all photographs and/or video of myself to be used for the Five Loaves & Two Fish Healthy Teaching Kitchen website and any Five Loaves & Two Fish Healthy Teaching Kitchen educational, training or promotional electronic or printed material without restriction as to frequency or duration of usage and without compensation.

I understand that Five Loaves & Two Fish Healthy Teaching Kitchen does not serve alcoholic beverages but individuals may bring in their own. I agree that I will not operate a motor vehicle after consuming alcoholic beverages during the Five Loaves & Two Fish Healthy Teaching Kitchen class.

I further agree to indemnify and to hold Five Loaves & Two Fish Healthy Teaching Kitchen as well as all members of it cooking classes’ staff whether contracted or employed free and harmless from any loss, liability damage, cost, or expense which they may incur as a result of any injury that I may sustain while participating in said activity.

For Kids & Teens
In consideration of being permitted to participate in any way in Five Loaves & Two Fish Healthy Teaching Kitchen classes, field trips, cooking demonstrations, transportation, programs, or other events at any time (collectively, “the Activity”), I, for myself, my heirs, personal representatives and assigns, do hereby knowingly and voluntarily agree to release, waive, discharge and covenant not to sue Five Loaves & Two Fish Healthy Teaching Kitchen or ensuing guest chefs, local speakers, vehicle drivers, or Five Loaves & Two Fish Healthy Teaching Kitchen volunteers or employees, or the staff of any participating restaurant and their respective officers, employees, directors and agents, from liability from any and all claims, including, but not limited to, claims arising from the negligence of Five Loaves & Two Fish Healthy Teaching Kitchen or its officers, employees, directors and agents, resulting in personal injury, accidents or illnesses (including death), and property loss arising from, but not limited to, participation in the Activity.

Participation in the Activity carries with it inherent risks that cannot be eliminated regardless of the care taken to avoid injuries. Specific risks vary from one activity to another, but the risks range from 1) minor injuries such as cuts, bruises, and sprains, to 2) major injuries such as eye injury, joint or back injuries, to 3) catastrophic injuries, including paralysis and death.

I have read the previous paragraph and I know, understand, and appreciate these and other risks that are inherent in the Activity. I hereby assert that my participation in the Activity and/or the participation of the minor for whom I am signing this agreement in the Activity is voluntary and that I am knowingly assuming all such risks. Consent to Medical Treatment: I hereby consent for myself and the minor for whom I am signing this agreement to receive medical treatment which may be deemed advisable in the event of injury, accident and/or illness during the Activity.

Indemnification and Hold Harmless: I also agree to INDEMNIFY and HOLD Five Loaves & Two Fish Healthy Teaching Kitchen FREE and HARMLESS from any and all claims, actions, suits, procedures, costs, expenses, damages and liabilities, including attorney’s fees, brought as a result of my involvement in the Activity and/or the involvement of the minor for whom I am signing this agreement in the Activity and in connection with the Media Release set forth below and to reimburse them for any such expenses incurred.

Severability: The undersigned further expressly agrees that the foregoing Waiver of Liability, Assumption of Risk, and Indemnity Agreement is intended to be as broad and inclusive as is permitted by the law of the State of Florida and that if any portion thereof is held invalid, it is agreed that the balance of the agreement shall, notwithstanding, continue in full legal force and effect.

Media Release: I hereby grant Five Loaves & Two Fish Healthy Teaching Kitchen permission to use my likeness and the likeness of the minor for who I am signing this agreement in photographs or videos in any and all of their publications, including, but not limited to, website entries, without payment or any other consideration. I hereby irrevocably authorize Five Loaves & Two Fish Healthy Teaching Kitchen to edit, alter, copy, exhibit, publish or distribute the photographs or videos for purposes of publicizing Five Loaves & Two Fish Healthy Teaching Kitchen programs or for any other lawful purpose. In addition, I waive the right to inspect or approve the finished product, including written or electronic copy, wherein my likeness appears or the likeness of the minor for whom I am signing this agreement appears. Additionally, I waive any right to royalties or other compensation arising or related to use of the photographs or videos.

Late pick up: Parents are responsible to pick up their child or children from Five Loaves & Two Fish Healthy Teaching Kitchen classes on time. There is a five minute grace period, but after the grace period is over, parents will be charged $15 per child. If you are carpooling, the parent who is driving is responsible to pay for all children being picked up. This payment is to be submitted at pick up via cash or credit card.

Behavioral Issues: Five Loaves & Two Fish Healthy Teaching Kitchen reserves the right to terminate a student’s participation in class or other activity with no refund if he or she behaves in a manner that is disruptive, unsafe, or for any other reason that detracts from the class or other activity.

Acknowledgment of Understanding: I have read this Waiver of Liability, Assumption of Risk, and Indemnity Agreement, fully understand its terms, and understand that I am giving up substantial rights, including my right to sue on my behalf and on behalf of the minor for whom I am signing this Agreement.

For Traveler’s
I acknowledge on my own behalf and on behalf of all other members of my party that Five Loaves & Two Fish Healthy Teaching Kitchen does not operate any entity which is, to, or does provide goods or services for your trip including, for example, accommodation, transportation (other than provision of bicycles), food, drinks, etc. As a result Five Loaves & Two Fish Healthy Teaching Kitchen is not liable for any negligent or willful act of such suppliers of goods or services or failure to act of any such person, or of any other third party.

I acknowledge that I have voluntarily applied to participate in the trip designated on this application (or a trip to which I may subsequently transfer). I’m voluntarily participating in this trip with the knowledge of the numerous risks and dangers involved including but not limited to: climatic conditions including, excessive heat, fires, humidity or heavy rainfall or flooding, illness, injury, insect bites, food poisoning, animal attacks, criminal attacks, physical exertion for which I’m not prepared; forces of nature, travel; whether in civilized or remote areas and by plane, train, auto, boat or other conveyance, or on bicycle, ski, horseback, by foot or by other form of active or adventure travel; consumption of alcoholic beverages, or narcotics; civil unrest; terrorism; breakdown of equipment; high altitude; accident or illness without access to means of rapid evacuation or availability of medical supplies or services; the adequacy of medical attention obtained or provided; or negligence on the part of Five Loaves & Two Fish Healthy Teaching Kitchen.

I agree to follow all written and verbal rules of safety presented to me by Five Loaves & Two Fish Healthy Teaching Kitchen I acknowledge that the enjoyment and excitement of adventure is derived in part from the inherent risks incurred by travel and the activity beyond the accepted safety of life at home or work and that these inherent risks contribute to such enjoyment and excitement, being a reason for my participation. I HEREBY AGREE TO BE RESPONSIBLE FOR MY OWN WELFARE AND ACCEPT ANY AND ALL RISKS OF DELAY, UNANTICIPATED EVENTS, ILLNESS, INJURY, EMOTIONAL, TRAUMA OR DEATH except where caused negligently or intentionally by Five Loaves & Two Fish Healthy Teaching Kitchen I acknowledge that the costs of all Five Loaves & Two Fish Healthy Teaching Kitchen trips are based upon trip participants executing this release of; “Liability and Assumption of All Risks”. Therefore, as lawful consideration for being permitted to participate on such trip(s), I hereby RELEASE AND DISCHARGE Five Loaves & Two Fish Healthy Teaching Kitchen FROM AND AGAINST ANY AND ALL LIABILITY ARISING FROM MY PARTICIPATION IN THE TRIP except where liability arises from any intentional or negligent act on their part.

I agree that this release shall be legally binding upon me personally, all members of my family and all minors traveling with me, my heirs, successors, assigns and legal representatives, it being my intention to fully assume all the risk of the trip and to release Five Loaves & Two Fish Healthy Teaching Kitchen from any and all liabilities to the maximum extent permitted by law. I understand that Five Loaves & Two Fish Healthy Teaching Kitchen reserved the right to refuses any person it judges to be incapable of meeting the rigors and requirements of participation in the activities.

If I refuse to wear a helmet offered by Five Loaves & Two Fish Healthy Teaching Kitchen, I understand that Five Loaves & Two Fish Healthy Teaching Kitchen is not liable in case of any head injuries sustained.

I understand that Five Loaves & Two Fish Healthy Teaching Kitchen reserves the right to take photographic or film records of any of its trips and hereby agree that Five Loaves & Two Fish Healthy Teaching Kitchen owns any intellectual property rights in such photographic or film records and my use any such photographic or film records for promotional and/or commercial purposes, as well as approve such use of third parties with whom Five Loaves & Two Fish Healthy Teaching Kitchen may engage in joint marketing, without any remuneration to me. I hereby assign all right, title and interest I may have in or to any and all media in which my name or likeness may be used by Five Loaves & Two Fish Healthy Teaching Kitchen.

By enrolling in a class, I acknowledge that I am 18 years and over or under the supervision of a legal guardian, parent or adult. I have acknowledged that I asked and authorized to receive and participate in the following health nutrition and culinary education class or program in conjunction with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention National Diabetes Prevention Program.

I understand and agree that:
1. This class is for educational purposes only and is not being done for diagnostic or treatment purposes and does not constitute medical advice
2. Data derived from the test is considered preliminary and is not conclusive as to the absence or presence of any health condition
3. Five Loaves & Two Fish Healthy Teaching Kitchen, LLC advises and recommends that the class participant report the result of the test, including any result outside of the recommended range to my healthcare professional so s/he can help me determine whether I need follow up care
4. The responsibility for seeking follow up medical advice regarding the test result is mine and not that of any limited liability company (LLC), organization or professional associated with the test
5. In consideration of participation in any program offered,
I hereby release and hold harmless Five Loaves & Two Fish Healthy Teaching Kitchen and their respective divisions, subsidiaries, owners, directors, officers, and employees, in addition to any third party sponsors from any liability arising from enrollment
6. **Please, feel free to contact us ([email protected]) if you have any allergy and/or dietary medical restrictions. Due to special promotional pricing all sales are final. Cancelations can be applied as credit to a future class.**
